Shortly before I had Aiden I decided to join Twitter. I thought it would be a good way to keep people updated in the days leading up to his birth. Course, I didn't tweet that I was even going to the hospital for obviously good reasons. Now, 6 months later, I am TOTALLY addicted to Twitter!
I have well over 700 "tweets" and have set it up so that my tweets appear as my Facebook status updates! I "follow" everything one from CNN to Hungry Girl! I love that so much information can be sent straight to my phone. It is also great that I get to pick who's tweets are sent to my phone and who's I only view on the Twitter website. Since I don't have internet service on my phone, yet, there is no need to get messages that tend to have a lot of links.
Today I spent some time looking for more people to follow. Specifically? I was looking for book reviews, but I started looking for other topics on we follow I was fairly bummed out at my search results. There were several people on twitter who I thought I would really want to follow, but then I actually looked at there page. I was interested in one person because, due to her profile, I thought she was would be tweeting about Asian style cooking and recipes. Turns out a majority of the tweets on the page were @ tweets! I didn't see a single recipe or anything useful. There was another one that was under "science" and She is a doctor. Most of her tweets were brain dead or more @ tweets!
Here is my tip! If you put yourself on wefollow.com under certain tags then make sure your tweets are actually on that subject! Also, if you need to thank or make comments to specific people then send them direct messages. This is assuming that these tweets hold no value to people who are only ready half the conversation. Even CNN was doing this today! My cell was blowing up because CNN sent 15, out of a 16 tweet total, @ tweets in under an hour!!!!
My next addiction will hopefully be iPhone apps. *finger crossed*
